Spent all evening trying to figure out appropriate Christmas and one-year (January 3!) presents for my boyfriend. I think I got it? But it will require a little running around tomorrow, since I don’t want to pay $30.00 for fast Amazon shipping. I really shouldn’t have waited this long for shopping… I blame it on finals.

“67 percent of undocumented youth in the U.S. would would not benefit from the DREAM Act.” Love this effort to humanize the voices of undocumented youth who may not fit the straight-A or criminal stereotype so frequently highlighted in the media.

On Facebook, I just defriended a professor who has been nothing but passive-aggressive and mean to me all semester. It was a way for me to push this individual’s negativity from my life. No, you’re not going to control it. It was a way for me to put some small measure of power in my hands. I better than what you make me feel. I can persevere without you. It was deeply satisfying.

adaptation (negotiating my South Asian heritage)
umsaan: by Teija Madhusoodanan, senior and External Chair of the South Asian Awareness Network I was born in Chennai, India. Then moved to England or as I like to call it, Little India. From there we moved to Philadelphia where being mugged and experiencing drive-bys were not uncommon happenings. New Jersey was next with our quaint little apartment that we shared with a couple of playful...

I won’t see the Boyfriend until after Christmas. Seems like every time he comes back, he has to leave so soon. I don’t like it. We talked about post-grad plans last night. That conversation sucked. (Does it go well for anyone?)
